My story

For me, genealogy started with my own family.

When I was ten, my father told me about my great-grandfather – a Hungarian lawyer who spoke seven languages and was murdered in Auschwitz.

Those questions about my own family eventually became my profession.

Today, I combine professional genealogy, three years of legal studies at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in Budapest, and more than a decade of experience with Hungarian citizenship and archival research.

Complex cases

When the obvious record isn’t there

A missing birth record, changed surname or village outside today’s Hungary does not necessarily end a citizenship case.

I specialize in reconstructing difficult documentary chains and finding alternative evidence.

… I was only able to provide Anett with partial information about my late grandfather’s personal details and place of birth in Hungary, but within a few weeks time she was able to successfully find not only his records in the Hungarian archives, but also those of my great-grand parents from the late 19th century. Today, my father and I are both Hungarian citizens …

Anett is a brilliant, dedicated genealogist! She did tremendously deep dives into antiquated German texts to find out about my ancestry. She has access to resources which I can’t access, and speaks many languages I don’t – both of which make her successful. She also is charming, smart, and easy to work with. I highly recommend her!

… Anett was lovely to work with. She was highly communicative and efficient, and within 6 months of deciding that I was going to apply for citizenship, I had all of the original documents that I needed, and my application was submitted. …
